William A. Frerks, 84, passed away at his home in Milton, DE on Friday, February 6 with family by his side.  Bill was born in Brooklyn, NY and later lived in Middletown, NJ, where he served as a volunteer firefighter for many years.  He also lived in High Bridge, NJ and served in the Red Cross after 9/11, transporting Red Cross workers who were coming to the NY/NJ area to assist victims' family members.

Bill worked for the Coca-Cola Bottling Company of New York.  He started his career there at the age of 19, working his way into management.  He retired from Coca-Cola after 38 years.  He enjoyed many great trips through Coca-Cola's leadership incentive award program.

After moving to Milton 18 years ago, Bill particularly enjoyed sitting on his front porch, where he provided treats for the many dogs who stopped by for a visit when he was in his rocking chair listening to music.

Bill is survived by his wife of 60 years, Susan Dannic Frerks; his daughter Eileen Pilc (Bill) of Richmond, VA; his son Bill (Linda) of Bear, DE; his grandchildren Emily, Charlie, and Susan Pilc of Richmond, VA; his sister Helen Frerks of Brooklyn, NY; several nieces and nephews, and his beloved cat, Nora.  He was predeceased by his sister, Dorothy Mallery.

Donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Delaware Hospice are appreciated.  A family memorial will be held at a later date.
