Virginia “Ginny” Fletcher of Georgetown passed away on Tuesday August 19, 2025, at Thomas Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia. She was 65.

Ginny was born the daughter of the late Harry Sr and Sandra (Littleton) Fletcher.

Ginny was a lifelong resident of Sussex County. She enjoyed going out to dinner and on the boat flounder fishing with her companion Larry, cooking for family, especially during holidays and being with her faithful furry companion, Shadow.

She is survived by her lifelong companion Larry Pine of Georgetown, two daughters, Melissa Fitzgerald Ellis (Allen Pusey) of Georgetown, Lillie Fitzgerald (Beau Fibelkorn) of Lincoln, Sisters Teresa (Lou) Banos of Laurel, Terrie (Darryl) Brown of Sharptown, Lisa (Dennis) Jester of Seaford, Helen Fletcher of Seaford and brother Harry Fletcher Jr (Michele) of Georgetown, 2 grandchildren, Tristan Ellis and Aidan Ellis and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held 6pm on Monday, August 25 in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E Market Street, Georgetown DE where a time of visitation will take place from 4-6 prior to the service. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Georgetown EMS, 406 N. Front St, Georgetown or Georgetown Fire Company, PO Box 77, Georgetown DE 19947.
