Thelma Ann Sammons, born on January 1, 1929, in Thomasville, Georgia, to the late Lonnie E and Bertha Eva (Tillery) Scarbary, passed away on August 17, 2025, at the Country Rest Home in Greenwood, Delaware. 

She dedicated much of her life to working caring for her family, as a child by picking cotton and grading eggs. Her professional journey for 40 years on the assembly line at Arrow Safety. Following her retirement, Thelma committed herself to being the full-time caregiver for her son, Donald Wayne Sammons, until his passing.

A member of the First Baptist Church of Georgetown, Thelma found joy in her hobbies, which included embroidery, needlework, reading, and painting. She cherished the relationships she built over the years, including her good friend, Marybeth Adams, and the love she shared with several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Thelma was predeceased by her husband, Donald Irvin Sammons; her children, Virginia Lee Sammons and Sandy Lee Creach; her son, Donald Wayne Sammons; and all of her siblings.

A graveside service will be held at Union Cemetery in Georgetown, Delaware, on August 22, 2025, starting at 1:00 PM.
