Sylvia A. Pepper

Sylvia A. Pepper passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at Delaware Bay Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Georgetown with her only daughter by her side.

Sylvia graduated from Georgetown High School in June, 1953 and shortly after married the love of her life, Richard L. Pepper. They were together for 59 years until his death in 2013.

Her employment through the years included Arrow Safety Device, State of Delaware, and 30 plus years at the Sussex Countian in Georgetown as their bookkeeper.

She was a member of Watersedge Church, Milton, DE. She loved reading her Bible and was a prayer warrior for her family, friends, and anyone she thought was in need of prayer. Her and Richard enjoyed traveling to New England in the fall with family and friends for several years. She deeply loved her family and rarely ever missed any of her great grandchildren's sporting events, school events, or anything they were involved in. Her favorite thing most of all was spending time with her family.

Sylvia is survived by her daughter, Debbie Mitchell (Ralph); grandchildren, Kara Book (Rob), and Ryan Mitchell (Cindy); and great-grandchildren, Gabrielle Book (Liam), Camille Book, Jonathan Mitchell, and Julia Mitchell. She will be truly missed and forever loved by her family and the people she touched with kindness and love.
