Sandra Albright

It's with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our mother, Sandra Elaine (Gorlich) Albright on Tuesday, February 11th, 2025.

She was born on April 11th, 1949 to the late Julius Gorlich, Jr. and Lillian O. Gorlich. 

Sandy was a star athlete during her high school years in field hockey and basketball. She was valedictorian of her high school class of 1967 at Georgetown High School. 

She pursued a career in elementary education. To this day, Mrs. Albright is revered by many former students as a beloved and favorite teacher.

In her spare time, you could find her reading a book by the pool or beach. 

She was very proud and supportive of her family, especially her grandchildren. 

Sandy was survived by her 3 daughters: Dareth (John) Penuel, Kendra (Michael) Peterson, and Lindsay (Mike) Short. 4 grandchildren: Tat (Brittany) Penuel, Lily Penuel, Jason and Emilyrose Peterson. 

Her brother John (Hope) Gorlich, nephew Jason (Mary Katherine) Gorlich, great nephew Jamus, and great niece Cora Gorlich. Nephew Andy (Suzanna) Gorlich, great nephew Deacon and great niece Piper Gorlich, and countless other family and friends. 

A Funeral Service for Sandra will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 12:00 pm at Short Funeral Services, Inc., 609 E. Market Street, Georgetown, DE. 19947. Burial will take place in Milford Community Cemetery, Milford, DE. 

A viewing will take place on Saturday, February 22, 2025, from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Wesley United Methodist Church, 102 E. Laurel Street, Georgetown, DE. 19947.
