Bob was a Life Member and former Assistant Chief at the Talleyville Volunteer Fire Company, where he invested countless hours serving the community and building camaraderie with fellow firefighters. His commitment to service extended into his professional life, most recently as a customer service representative at Royal Farms.

Outside of work and public service, Bob nurtured several passions. He took great pride in caring for his lawn and found relaxation and enjoyment at the beach, as well as on camping and adventure trips. He appreciated good food, earning him a well-deserved reputation as a "skinny guy who liked to eat" among family and friends. Bob was known for his spirited sense of humor and was a regular prankster at the firehouse. A cherished family memory was his penchant for stealthily stealing freshly baked Christmas cookies that his wife made. Such moments embodied his lighthearted spirit and his appreciation for life's simple joys.

Above all, Bob's son and grandchildren, who called him "Pawpaw", held a special place in his heart. His legacy endures through his commitment to helping others and the warm memories he created for all who knew him.

Robert Steven Mitchell’s life will be commemorated by those who remain, and his memory will be cherished by those fortunate enough to have been part of his journey.
