Ray E. Mitchell

Ray E. Mitchell, 84, of Milton, Delaware passed away October 24, 2026 surrounded by his family. Born on September 26, 1942, Ray grew up and spent his entire life in Milton.

Ray worked as a transport truck driver for Atlantic Concrete for more than 30 years. He was known as very caring man who loved his family and friends. He enjoyed his grandchildren, cutting grass, tending his garden and woodworking.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years Stella J. Mitchell; his daughter's JoEllen and Sandra and husband, Robert, all of Milton; his brothers Ronald Mitchell and wife Donna of Milford and Martin Mitchell of Maryland; his nephews Kevin and Kyle and nieces Kerry and Karla and spouses; grandchildren Alicia Brust and husband Steve, Amanda Hewes and husband Mark II, and Adam Wagner and wife Melissa and his great grandchildren Mark Hewes III, Arthur Hewes and Caleb Brust.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents Howard and Cleo Mitchell of Milton.

His life was marked by devotion to his family and friends, especially Gerald Howard.

A celebration of life will be held in the spring of 2027.
