Peter
Bourdosis
April 30, 1952 – March 2, 2026
Peter (Pete) Bourdosis passed away peacefully on March 2, 2026, shortly before his 74th birthday. He worked over 40 years in the field of real estate. He lived a life marked by loyalty to his family and friends, a quick wit, and a personality that left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Nick and Effie (Calomeris) Bourdosis, and his spouse Janet Peirce Bourdosis. He is survived by his daughter Christina Bourdosis and husband Michael Posey, sister Margo (Basil) Lambros, nieces Stacey (Brian) Tombs and Ana (Michael) Lazos, and his 5 beloved great nephews and niece: Nickolas, Michael, Leah, Stelios, and Sambikos.
In January 2022, Pete was diagnosed with Stage IV kidney cancer, which later spread to his lungs and brain. True to his spirit, he faced his illness with bravery, determination, and strength, fighting valiantly for over four years. Those who knew him best witnessed firsthand his resilience and the deep love he had for the people in his life.
Pete will be remembered for many things: his sharp humor, his quick wit, his compassion, his devotion to family and friends, and his lifelong love affair with the Washington Redskins (and as he would insist, NOT the Commanders).
He was also known for taking great pride in his appearance. Pete rarely stepped out without his signature gold chain and cross, pinkie ring, and his treasure - his carefully styled hair, which was famously off-limits to almost everyone. Only a chosen few were ever allowed to touch it, and even then, the privilege was granted cautiously, as Pete guarded his hair closely. In fact, friends and family often joked that Pete never passed a reflective surface—whether a window, mirror, or even a shiny doorknob—without taking a quick glance to make sure everything was still perfectly in place.
Pete is now reunited with loved ones and rests in the presence of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy lives on through the love he shared, the laughter he brought to those around him, and the many memories cherished by family and friends.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society; Pete would take comfort knowing that his journey contributed to help and healing for others. On April 26, before the conclusion of liturgy at Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Baltimore, the priest will conduct a brief memorial service for him. Because of a youth retreat the hall is not available, so there will be no coffee hour or luncheon. He will be interred in Delaware at a later date.
May his memory be eternal.
