Paul Lee Everett, 86 years of age, passed away on Sunday, August 3rd, 2025.
Paul was born September 25, 1938 in Felton, Delaware to the late Doc and Helen Everett; as the eldest of six children. He was raised by his dear grandmother, the late Martha Bradley.
Paul married the love of his life, Pat Everett, in 1975 and built their family’s home brick by brick, expanding it over the years as his children came along. They ran a successful concrete business together, called Dakater Statuary, from which he later retired. He didn’t mind getting his hands dirty, whether it was pouring molds for the family business or building tree forts for his kids. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, crabbing on the Mispillion River, tending to his garden, and never turned down a hot cup of coffee or a good nap in a comfy chair.
He is preceded in death by his daughters, Laurie Ann Everett, and Dara Ann Gauen, as well as his sister, Shirley Everett. Paul’s memory will be cherished by those he leaves behind; his loving wife of 50 years, Pat Everett; along with his siblings, Jean Boyer, Kaye Davidson (Glenn), Carol Humphrey Flanagan, and Bruce Humphrey (Rose). He will also be dearly missed by his children; Shelly Carroll (David), Heidi Lees (Shon), Paul L Everett Jr. (Sharmini), Terri Everett (Dale), Katie Coenen (Brandon), Daniel Everett (Justine); and Kenny Gauen, as well as 16 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and countless other friends and family.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, August 8th, 2025 at the Berry Short Funeral Home in Milford, DE. Visitation will begin one hour prior. The burial will take place at the Hollywood Cemetery, located in Harrington, DE, following the ceremony. Flower services will be provided by Not Too Shabby, of Milford, DE.
