Nancy Lee Betts

July 31, 1943 — December 19, 2025

Nancy Lee Betts, a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, loving wife, and woman of deep faith, passed away on December 19, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. She was 82.

Originally from northem Anne Arundel County, Maryland, Nancy was the daughter of Nettie Lorena (Fowler) Callis and Julius Callis. She grew up|alongside her sister, Gloria (Callis) Laughery, and her brothers, Clifford Callis and Jim Callis, and loved riding bikes with her neighborhood friends. The siblings shared many childhood adventures-including sledding down a steep hill near their home during the winter months. In 1961, after years filled with family and friendship, Nancy graduated from Brooklyn Park High School and worked in several shops in Baltimore City.

Nancy met her husband, Irvin Betts, in 1970 at a church social. After marrying, she moved to Georgetown, Delaware, where they built a warm and welcoming home together. Nancy and Irvin blended their families with grace and affection. She was the proud mother of two daughters, Lisa and Terri, and Irvin brought two sons, Wells and Mike, into their shared life. Together, they created a home where family always came first.

Known for her kind heart, radiant smile, joyful laughter, and steady spirit, Nancy spent many summers caring for her grandchildren. She filled their days with love, Bible stories on VHS tapes, and her famous chocolate chip cookie bars.

Nancy loved the Lord with all her heart and celebrated her faith through music. She was known to play Christmas music as early as July-always ready to rejoice in the season and the birth of Jesus. She often said, "God is good."

For many years, Nancy worked as the bookkeeper for her husband's masonry business, providing steady support for him and his employees during busy seasons. She leaves behind a legacy of generosity, faith, and devotion. Her family will hold her memory close and honor the kindness and hospitality she shared so freely.

Nancy is survived by her daughters, Lisa Albright (Rick) and Terri Clausen (Keith); her sons, Wells Betts and Mike Betts (Tammie); and her grandchildren: Danielle Betts, Emily (Albright) Scott, Beth Albright, Leah Albright, Chelsea (Betts) Seeber, Krista (Clausen) Blosser, Sarah Albright, and Zachary Clausen. She is also survived by eight beloved great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin Betts; her sister, Gloria (Callis) Laughery; her brother, Clifford Callis; and her granddaughter, Crystal Betts.
