Mildred Jensen of Milford, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2026, in Delmar, Delaware, just shy of her 104th birthday. Born on August 7, 1922, in Odessa, Delaware, Mildred led a life marked by kindness, generosity, and quiet accomplishment.
Mildred dedicated over thirty years of her life to working for L.D. Caulk. Her commitment to her career was matched only by her devotion to her home, family, and faith.
A proud member of Avenue United Methodist Church, Mildred lived her values every day. She cherished her church and faith. She had a deep love for being at home and found joy in everyday moments, often filling her surroundings with warmth and generosity. Mildred and her late husband, Robert John Jensen, shared a remarkable bond over their 56 years of marriage; they went everywhere together, often coordinating their outfits in thoughtful displays of partnership and affection that endeared them to all who knew them.
Mildred enjoyed making things by hand, with a particular fondness for cakes and candies. Friends and family were often the delighted recipients of her culinary talents, a sign of her giving nature. That culinary talent won her several ribbons and awards at the Delaware State Fair. She was always kind and generous with what she had.
Mildred’s life was interwoven with the connections she held with her family. She is survived by her loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Robert John Jensen; siblings Sarah Cooper, Ralph Milbourn, Richard Milbourn, Esther Shockley, and Ida Lake; as well as her parents, Harvey and Mildred Milbourn.
A graveside service to honor and remember Mildred Jensen will be held at 11:00 a.m. on August 3, 2026, at Milford Community Cemetery, located on North Dupont Boulevard, Milford, Delaware. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Delaware Hospice or Avenue United Methodist Church in Milford, Delaware.
Mildred Jensen’s gentle spirit, steadfast love, and kindness will remain a cherished memory for all whose lives she touched. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her family and friends.
