Mary Jane D. (Fithian) Hanna

September 18, 1930 — June 17, 2025

Mary Jane D. Hanna (Fithian), 94 of Millville passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning June 17, 2025, at Vineland Inspira Medical Center and went to join her family in heaven.

Mary Jane was born on September 18, 1930, in Milton, Delaware to the late Hildreth S. and Mary Fithian (Megee). Mary Jane and her parents moved to Woodstown, NJ where she attended and graduated from Woodstown High School and later had her first three beloved children. She would return to the little town of Milton where she spent her summer vacations. She later moved to Pittsgrove, NJ where she had her last two beloved children. She was the proud mother of five children.

Mary Jane worked at Columbia Records, Two Guys and Bradlees where she retired in 1988. She then moved backed to Milton, Delaware in 1988 and found that she missed working, so to stay busy she began working part time at King Cole and the Harbor Café. She also enjoyed babysitting most of her beloved grandchildren. Several years later she went to Chincoteague, VA and fell in love with the area. She purchased a camper at Tom's Cove and spent her summers there. It was truly her "Happy Place!" She found many new friends and enjoyed BBQ's, riding around on her golf cart, watching the ponies swim, laughing/joking and all the other fun Island activities making priceless memories. Even after she could no longer stay there by herself, her children continued to take her down as often as possible. Her children are ecstatic that she was able to spend the weekend down there a few weeks ago. She loved to listen and dance to "old" country music, sitting for hours doing her word finds or reading juicy books. She was an avid spoon collector with many of them from all over the world and she loved lighthouses. She was always the life of the party, even at 94. She will be deeply missed by all.

She is survived by her five children. Emily Reeves (Vito) of Pittsgrove, NJ, Paul Hanna of Millville NJ, Denise Hanna (Mike) of Millville, NJ, Cheri Manno (Frank) of Rosenhayn, NJ, Heather Torres (Pete) of Georgetown, DE. Eleven grandchildren, Vladimir Reeves (Kathy) of Sewell, NJ, Nicholas Reeves of Pittsgrove, NJ, Paul Halter (Samantha) of West Deptford, Robert Cantoni Jr of Landisville, NJ, Courtney Cantoni (Brandon) of Vineland, NJ, Frankie Manno Jr of Rosenhayn, NJ, Danielle Overstreet (Darren) of Upper Deerfield, NJ, Madison Ray Manno (Drew) of Rosenhayn, NJ, Petty Officer First Class Blake Jackson-US Navy (Angel) of Key West, Florida, Tyller Jackson (Stevie) of Millsboro, DE, Tayllor Jackson of Bridgeville, DE. Ten great-grandchildren, Jacqueline and Alexandra Reeves, Shayne, Brendan and Breyden Halter, Kason Jones, Brynnlee and Lilah Overstreet, Arianna and Willow Jackson.
