Marion May Haller, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away on September 4, 2025, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, DE. She was born on June 26, 1934, in Maspeth, Queens, NY, to the late John and Rose (Thomas) Engesser. As one of eleven children, she is now reunited with her nine siblings who preceded her in death.
Marion married Robert Haller, with whom she shared 71 wonderful years. Together, they faced the challenges of military life, moving several times across the United States, living in California, New York, Alaska, and North Dakota. In 1972, they settled in Delaware, where Marion became an integral part of the community.
Marion worked many years in accounting at various companies throughout her career, retiring from Playtex after 20 years. Beyond her professional life, she cherished cooking for her family and became known for her warm-hearted nature. She had a knack for making friends easily, embodying kindness and generosity in all her interactions.
An avid traveler, Marion also enjoyed bowling, reading, and playing the slots at the casino in Dover. Her admirable spirit shone through her accomplishment of learning to roller skate following her battle with polio at the age of 15.
Marion was actively involved in her community as a member of the Church of the Holy Cross in Dover, Delaware Veterans Post 2, and the American Legion.
Her legacy of kindness and love will live on through her surviving family: her husband Robert Haller; children Mark (Sherri) Haller, Sharon Elliott, Brian (Rhonda) Haller, Laura Haller, and Debra (Richard) Breister; sister Patricia Morris; grandchildren Christopher (Misty) Elliott, Ryan (Lisa) Elliott, Andrew (Kala) Haller, Morgan (Josh) Ballard, Megan (Ryan) Musser, Lauren Breister, and Collin Breister; as well as nine great-grandchildren.
Marion May Haller will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know her.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 27th from 4:00pm - 8:00pm at the Delaware Veterans Post 2, 720 Pear St, Dover, DE 19904.
