Marian J. Keily 94, of Milford, DE, went home to be with the lord on Thursday, August 7, 2025. She was a very special person to her daughter and son which she was always vigilant making sure that they were following the path of decency and respect as she was raised. She especially doted on her grandchildren and great grandchildren at any opportunity to support and cherish any time she had with them. She attended as many events as possible to watch and live all their experiences that they participated in and was very proud of all of them.
In her early years she was able to experience and live in other countries and American states after she married her husband Ronald who was enlisted in the United States Air Force. During this time she did her best to raise a daughter and son by any means possible.
Born in Milford, DE on June 4, 1931 to Frank E. and Margaret E. (Maloney) Rothermel she was raised on the family farm with her siblings that were all very hard working to sustain and support a family of 11 children. When she returned to Delaware in 1971 after Ronald retired from the military she was employed by the Milford school district food service division from 1972 until her retirement in 1992.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen L. Flicker (Steven) and son Keith A. Keily (Donna), Grandchildren Kandace R. Rowe (Zachary), Kade E. Keily (Brittani), Great grandchildren Gavin Walls, Logan Walls, Ryland Keily, Kennadi Keily and brothers Harold Rothermel and Marvin Rothermel (Maggie) , special companion Lee Moore and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Ronald E. Keily, sisters; Francis Bennett, Ruth Bennett, Helen Sharp, Sarah Effinger, brothers; Frank, Herbert, John and Martin.
Funeral services will be 12:00pm Tuesday August 12, 2025 at Berry-Short Milford, DE. where friends may call from 11:00 to 12:00 for viewing before the start of the memorial. Internment will be at Milford Community Cemetery (also known as the old Odd Fellows Cemetery) on North Walnut St.
