Madolyn Louise Warrington of Lincoln, Delaware, passed away in the early morning hours of Wednesday, October 29th, 2025. She was 89 years old. Madolyn was born on June 25, 1936, to William Henry and Marian Louise Bennett. Immediately after high school, Madolyn began working at Wright’s Pontiac, which later became Napa Auto Parts in Milford. Madolyn worked there for 57 years. She also worked part-time for Jack Donovan Plumbing, Heating & AC for several years.
Madolyn enjoyed music, traveling, scrapbooking, flowers, and gardening. She particularly loved her trips to Hawaii and Germany and her cruises in Alaska. She was a big fan of auto racing, having kept score at Little Lincoln Raceway when she was younger, and having friends in the sport. She became a huge fan of NASCAR racing and attended races at tracks all over the country. She loved taking photos and kept scrapbooks of her family, her travels, and her dogs. She was a proud and devoted dog mama to her American Eskimo dogs Fluff, Kiana, and then to Kasper, who unfortunately passed away on September 16th.
She did not have children but enthusiastically took on the role of Aunt, Great Aunt and even Great-great aunt, attending many of her nieces’ and nephews’ (and great-nieces’ and nephews’) activities and cheering for all of their accomplishments. She was a wonderful Thanksgiving host for her large family and would happily host birthdays and other celebrations in her home.
In recent years, Madolyn liked to keep busy and had an active social life. She was a member of and the Treasurer for the Lincoln Community Church and was a board member for the Lincoln Community Center.
Madolyn is preceded in death by her parents, William Henry Bennett and Marian Louise (Norgan) Bennett, of Lincoln, Delaware. She is survived by her sister, Joyce Elizabeth Kickery, of Lincoln; her nephews Kenneth Clark (Donna) of Lincoln, Jack Clark, of Lincoln, and Kevin Clark (Melissa) of Maryland; her nieces Lynn Faltin (Glen) of Charlotte, NC; and Diana Kickery of Clover, SC; and many great and great-great nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held at Berry Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front St, in Milford, Delaware, on Saturday, November 8th, from 11:30am – 1pm, which will be immediately followed by the funeral service. A reception will be held at the Lincoln Community Church, 8641 Second St, Lincoln, following the funeral service.
