Listen to Obituary

Lindsay Ann Barnes passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at Beebe Medical Center. She was born at the very same hospital on November 25, 1992. As we locals say, a Beebe baby.

Lindsay graduated from Cape Henlopen High School in 2011 as a member of the National Honor Society. She attended High Point University in North Carolina where she was a member of the Phi Mu Fraternity, their philanthropy the Children's Miracle Network.

She later transferred to Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. She was described by friends, co-workers and family as a beautiful person inside and out. She was compassionate working as a medical tech/patient care coordinator in the emergency room at Beebe Medical Center then moving to Arkansas she worked at White River Healthcare Systems-Senior Haven in Batesville caring for patients in the memory unit. She then moved to Raleigh, NC where she became a certified chiropractic assistant and certified x-ray technician for Crabtree Chiropractic Center, a job that she loved all aspects of including all the patients she assisted as well as her co-workers. Medical issues brought her back to her hometown in Delaware where she resided with her parents and beloved rescue dog, Molly.

Lindsay was baptized and confirmed at the Lewes Presbyterian Church where she and her parents attended and were members for many years. She sang in the choir. She attended and then served as a crew leader in the Kids for Christ program as well as Vacation Bible School as she loved children and they in turn loved her.

In 2020 the family was led to worship and become members of the Long Neck Methodist Church. She continued to serve as a crew leader in Vacation Bible School there as well.

She rooted for the Chicago Bears, an avid fan of football, and often enjoyed teasing her Pastor each year how her team was going to be so much better than his Green Bay Packers.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Jean & Joseph Barnes, Uncle Joey Barnes and her maternal grandfather Anthony Lorah.

She is survived by her parents, Denise & Robert Barnes, her sister Elizabeth, her maternal grandmother, Margaret Lorah, Uncle David his wife Bobbi Jo, their children Josh, Hailey and Kayla Lorah, Aunt Myrna Barnes, Aunt Judy Bunnell, Uncle Jim & Aunt Beth Barnes, Cousins Chris & Donna Barnes, their children Matthew, Morgan & Jenna and Cousins Becky Buchalla her husband Markus & daughter Lena, Shane Bunnell and her beloved Molly dog.

She loved her sorority sister and best friend, Aly LeonGuerrero and the love of her life Rick Rumble who supported her during her lengthy illness giving her hope, joy and love in her most difficult journey over the past few years.

She greatly appreciated all the prayers that surrounded her and truly was grateful as are her parents for the love and support of church family & friends.
