Obituary

Lee Kenneth "Kenny" Dodd, of Delaware, passed away on October 19, 2026, in Georgetown, Delaware. He was born on April 6, 1936, in Harbeson, Delaware, and lived a long life marked by faith, service, hard work, and the steady pleasures of family and community.

Mr. Dodd was Methodist and attended St. John’s Church, where his faith remained an important part of his life. In July 2004, he became a pastor, answering a calling that reflected his devotion and care for others. He went on to pastor a church in Ridgely, Maryland, for 10 years, offering guidance, encouragement, and spiritual leadership. He also served as youth director of Carey’s Camp, a role through which he touched the lives of many young people. Alongside his ministry, he worked for the DelDOT for 42 years, a remarkable span of service that spoke to his dedication and strong work ethic.

Beyond his work and ministry, Lee found joy in simple and enduring interests. He was a beekeeper, loved to fish, enjoyed playing horseshoes, and had a love for stock car races. These pursuits reflected a life grounded in both purpose and pleasure, and they will remain among the many memories cherished by those who knew him.

He is survived by his children, Dennis Dodd (Sherry), Denise Luckenbaugh (Eric), David Dodd (Ruth Ann), and Daniel Dodd. He is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Dana Nibblett (Jamie), Kim Dodd (Tamerra), Kane Nibblett, and Knox Dodd. Together, they carry forward the memory of a man whose life was shaped by commitment to his family, his faith, and his community.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane, who died in February 2013, and by his parents, William and Helen.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Friday, October 23, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Short Funeral Services - Georgetown, 609 E Market St, Georgetown, DE 19947. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the same location.
