LEWES – It is with great sadness that the family of Lauren R. Wallace announce his peaceful passing on Friday, August 21, 2026, at age 87. He will be dearly missed by his wife Carol, three children, Janelle Hansen, Jon Wallace, and Bill Wallace. Lauren has seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Marvin Wallace, wife Ellen and their two sons.

Lauren lived in the Pacific Northwest the first half of his life and still has family ties there. He joined the Marine Corps out of high school while he decided what he wanted to do with his life. He came home from the Marine Corps and within a short period of time, married Carol. They lived on the same street as young children. Carol being a year older, would safely escort Lauren to school. They have been married 66 years.

Lauren‘s occupation was in the banking industry. He loved to fly private planes and work numbers. Lauren combined these two talents into a career of financing airplanes. They moved as a family to the Baltimore area in 1979. After retirement, Lauren and Carol settled into life on the Eastern Shore. He was a member of the Marine Corps league, then became a member of the Civil Air Patrol in Georgetown, where he mentored young cadets and shared his love of flying with them. It became one of the accomplishments he is most proud of.
