Obituary to Honor Kole Kruger Loftin

MILTON - With deep love and sorrow, we announce the passing of Kole Loftin, who left us on Sunday, May 24, 2026. He was a devoted son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend who touched countless lives through his kindness, artistry, and passion for dance. The world became a little dimmer with the loss of Kole Loftin, a kind, loving, and unforgettable person whose warmth will never be forgotten. Kole was shared with us for 34 beautiful years, leaving behind a legacy filled with creativity, compassion, and inspiration.

Born on September 24, 1991, in Milford, Delaware, Kole possessed a loving and creative spirit from a young age. He was deeply devoted to his family and friends and was known for his bright personality, caring heart, and ability to bring joy to those around him.

Kole graced many stages throughout the local community, sharing his remarkable talent and love for the performing arts with audiences across Delaware, Pennsylvania, Maryland and beyond. His artistic journey included time at Southern Delaware School of the Arts where his passion for dance came alive. He continued in the dance program at Sussex Central High School and graduated in 2011. His experience led him to study dance under Kate Downs Walker at Sussex Dance Academy in 2002. During his tenure at Sussex Dance Academy, Kole had opportunities to earn scholarships such as: Performing Arts Scholarship recipient (Hollywood, CA) through the Tremaine Dance Convention, Delaware Dance Festival award recipient, and Diane Druelis Foundation scholarship winner. He attended The Rock School of Dance Education in Philadelphia. After graduation from high school Kole continued his training at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia; where he expanded his studies into modern ballet, contemporary, and lyrical dance genres. He was asked frequently through the years to return as the guest lead in several annual productions of Sussex Ballet’s The Nutcracker under the direction of Kate Downs Walker up through December of 2025. Whether through theater, dance, or vocal performances, Kole’s presence on stage left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to watch him perform.

Kole’s professional journey began with Weber-Prianti Productions Inc in 2008 where he performed in Broadway Fever and Sound of Christmas at Rehoboth Theater of the Arts. Then Kole continued with the Walt Disney World Resort during the 2013 holiday season, where he showcased both his vocal and dance talents in the show Celebrate The Season. His passion for performing eventually led him to several contracts with Carnival Cruise Line, allowing him to travel the world while sharing his artistry with audiences everywhere he went. He especially loved telling stories about his travels, including his memorable experiences in Sydney, Australia.

Dance was truly the heartbeat of Kole’s life. After his professional career in entertainment with Carnival, Kole returned to hometown of Georgetown, DE and began teaching at Sussex Dance Academy. He loved teaching Jazz, Contemporary, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Acro, Tap and Ballet. Kole loved mentoring young dancers and inspiring students with his creativity, discipline, and passion for the arts. His talents as choreographer were highly sought after from dancers in the studio for various competitive events and memorable recital pieces that will always be treasured. He was so proud of his students.

Kole will be remembered not only for his extraordinary talent, but also for the light he brought into every room. He encouraged others freely, loved deeply, and inspired countless family members, friends, students, and fellow performers. His joyful, compassionate, artistic, and free-spirited nature will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Kole was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Charlie and Mary Rowlyk; his grandmother, Nina Kruger; and his sister, Kaytelynn Loftin. He is survived by his mother, Karen Kruger; god mother, Kelly Kruger; grandfather, Franklin Kruger; his brother, Samren Sam (Cassie); his half-siblings, Kim Reed (Derek) and Brian Loftin; his uncle, Charlie Kruger (Evelynn); his aunt, Kim Bailey; his beloved goddaughter and cousin, Kaytin Thomas; as well as many great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins, and extended family members including the Kruger, Rowlyk, Sam, Thomas, and Walker families. He also leaves behind his cherished families from Sussex Dance Academy, Carnival Cruise Line, and many close friends whose lives were forever enriched by knowing him.

Though his performance on the stage has ended; the beauty, passion, and love Kole shared will continue to dance in the hearts of all who knew him. Despite his time with us here was far too short, the love, encouragement, and light he gave to others will never be forgotten. He will be deeply missed and forever carried in the hearts of those who loved him. Forever loved, forever remembered, and forever dancing.

Flowers are welcomed and appreciated. In honor of Kole’s love for dance, the arts, and helping others, memorial contributions may be made toward medical expenses or donated to Sussex Dance Academy or the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
