Kenneth Harvey Smith 85 of Milford Delaware beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather gained his wings on January 23,2026.

Kenny was born 02/29/1940 in Smyrna to the late Shanley P Smith and Sadie L McNatt Smith. He served in the army for four years and upon returning Mr. Smith worked at ILC in Frederica, Delaware and retired from Playtex in Dover, Delaware, where he was a guard.

Mr. Smith was an avid outdoorsman and simply loved nature. He received State record for his black drum and would be out on his boat Ms. Piggy every chance he got. He raised horses, pigs, chickens, and turkeys. Mr. Smith loved plants and could get anything to grow.

In his older years Mr. Smith joined the Frederica Senior Center where he started wood carving and made many pieces that he was very proud of. He lived a full life and loved to travel and go to different events. The last few years he would love to sit at the table and watch his birds and play cards with his buddy Dan Haggerty of Milford Delaware. He had an infectious laughter that brought so many people contentment.

In addition to his parents, He was preceded in death by brothers Shanley (Buddy) Smith, Sidney Smith, Dickie McNabb, Delancey (Buddy)Pryor and Norris Eddinton. Mr. Smith survived by his daughters Penny Shockley (Greg); Kelly Stevenson (Scott); granddaughter Emily Sylvester of Berlin and grandson Conor Sylvester of Milford; Great granddaughter Savannah Summers. Kenny had a large Family with many brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews and loved to spend time with them as much as he could.

The family would like to give special thanks to his caregivers at Bayada Home Health for taking such good care of him and giving the opportunity to stay in his home. Thanks to Hospice Milford for giving him a peaceful transition. Thanks to Ruth Armour for staying connected to him after her retirement from Bayada.

Mr. Smith requested not to have any services upon his death. He will be terribly missed by his family and friends.
