June E. Donovan

June E. Donovan of Georgetown, peacefully passed away at home on Monday, March 2, 2026. She was 73.

June was born the daughter of the late Preston E. and Alice G. (Burton) Donovan.

June worked as a Social Services Specialist for the State of Delaware at the Department of Aging and Physical Disabilities with 24 years of dedicated service, after which she volunteered in several positions. At 3 different times in her life, she cared for a total of 23 foster children.

June attended Waters Edge Church in Milton.

In addition to her parents, June was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth White; brothers, Albert, Joseph, and Charles Donovan; and a nephew, Dean Cannon.

June is survived by her daughter, Crystal Slakes (Rob); son, Michael O'Day; sister, Dorothy Cannon; niece, Julie Robinson (Alan); nephews, Jimmy and Daryl Cannon; 6 grandchildren; and several great-nieces and nephews.

A time of visitation will be held on Monday, March 9, 2026 between 12pm and 1pm in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market Street, Georgetown, DE. A funeral service will follow at 1pm. Services will conclude with a graveside service at Conleys Chapel Cemetery in Lewes, Delaware.
