Joyce Ann Walton

Joyce A. Walton, 59, of Ellendale, DE, passed away on Saturday, June 14th, 2025 surrounded by her loved ones and her husband who never left her side. 

Joyce was born on August 7th, 1965 in Maryland to Geraldine Clark and Joseph Owens 

Joyce dedicated her life to working for hospice and private care for the ones who were in need. She also drove a bus for the  Milford School District for many years. 

Joyce was always there for her family and close friends. She made sure to always show up for events with her son and grandchildren.

She would make sure to call her son and grandchildren every single day no matter the time. She was a rock for her whole entire family and will be dearly missed.

Joyce's favorite thing to do was spend time with her great-grandchildren; they all were her pride and joy in life. She would never let them go without and always made sure to spoil them.

She was pre-deceased by her father; Joseph Owens, her brother; Louie Owens, and her niece; Taylor Owens.

In addition to her husband; Wayne Walton, she is survived by her mother; Geraldine and Larry Clark, her son; Joseph Williams (Shelley), her grandchildren; Ashley Williams (Parker), Katelyn Williams (Ellis), James Tucker, and Lexy Short (Greg), her great-grandchildren; Aliya, Xyliah, Brooke, and Wren, her brothers; Donald Owens (Margot), and Richard Owens, and her dear friend; Jan Sammons.

A Celebration of life will be held on August 10th, 2025 at Ellendale Firehall from 12pm to 2pm. Any family and close friends are welcome to attend.

As a way to honor Joyce's legacy, donations made be made in her memory to the Delaware Hospice Center.
