John “Jack” H. Greenly Jr., age 87, of Frederica, Delaware, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2025.
Born in Dover, Delaware, Jack grew up on the family farm in Felton alongside his two sisters, Doris Stevenson and Kay Waldren, who preceded him in death. After graduating from Felton High School, Jack proudly served his country in the United States Army, spending time in Germany, an experience he often reflected on with fondness, recalling the food, culture, and people he came to love.
Upon returning home, he worked briefly for the State of Delaware. Soon after, he met the love of his life, Coralie Waishes. Together, Jack and Coralie shared a lifetime of adventure, traveling across the United States and calling Florida, North Carolina, and Kentucky home before returning to Delaware and settling once again on the family farm in Frederica. Coralie preceded him in death in 2002.
Jack built a successful career with Lowe’s, where his leadership, work ethic, and record-breaking sales earned him numerous awards and recognitions. Beyond his own success, Jack was known for helping others find theirs, instrumental in helping countless friends and family members start careers and secure employment opportunities.
A generous and kind-hearted man, Jack touched many lives in positive ways. In his retirement, he returned full time to his roots on the farm, where he found joy tending his garden, caring for his herd of Limousin cattle, and spending time with his beloved cats.
Jack is survived by his two children, Michelle Greenly and John Greenly; grandchildren Brent Leitzell, Jennifer Thomas, and Madeline Greenly; great-grandchildren; brothers, sister; nieces; nephews; and dear friends who will remember him for his humor, warmth, and unwavering generosity.
