Jerry Woodrow McCormick, Jr., a beloved husband and devoted family man, passed away on December 17, 2025, at his home in Dover, Delaware surrounded with love. He was born on April 10, 1970, in Lewes, Delaware.
Jerry's life journey was deeply rooted in his experiences at the Pilgrim Wesleyan Church in Milford, where his father, Jerry W. McCormick Sr., served as pastor. This nurturing environment shaped his character and values, qualities that would stay with him throughout his life.
As a handyman, Jerry was known for his reliability and skillfulness, always lending a hand to those in need. He approached his work with dedication and a sense of pride, embodying the spirit of service that was integral to his upbringing.
When Jerry was growing up his father attended Pastoral Ministry College. His first assignment after graduating was in Washington, PA a suburb to Pittsburgh. It was there that Jerry’s love for the Steel City started.
Jerry was a passionate fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, a love that mirrored his vibrant personality. He found joy in cheering for his team and shared many memorable moments with family and friends over the game. When his children were growing up Jerry was always available to assist with coaching for Little League and Pop Warner teams that his boys were playing on.
He is survived by many cherished family members, including his mother, Donna (Daniels) McCormick, his wife, Susan Elizabeth (Argo) McCormick, and his father-in-law, John P. Argo, Sr. Jerry's legacy continues through his children: Joshua McCormick, Christian Phillips (Amber), Jonah McCormick, George Pechin III, Breanna Pechin, Hope Bethard (Tim), Casey Wilkins (Jordan), Joyce Lione (John) and Lucas Hopkins. Two previous stepchildren that he held dear to his heart Courtney Vazquez and Jacob Morgan. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, JaseyRae McCormick, Avery Pechin, Colton Bordeaux, and Isaac Phillips. Jerry is additionally survived by his brother, Dwayne McCormick, and his loyal companion Sunshine the family dog, and a close-knit extended family comprising aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends.
Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Jerry W. McCormick Sr., his son, Jesse McCormick, and his siblings, Michelle Rodriguez and Christopher McCormick and his nephew Thomas Berry III. Each of these losses deeply impacted him, yet he carried their memories with him throughout his life.
As we remember Jerry Woodrow McCormick, Jr., we honor a life devoted to family and friendship. He will be sorely missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
