Hilda M. Maloney

Hilda M. Maloney, a true Delaware native, was born on October 2, 1929 in Greenwood to the late Gilbert and Cora (Tull) Pinder. She passed away at her home on May 5, 2025 at the age of 95. Hilda dedicated her career to sewing, utilizing her skills as a seamstress for Playtex. Throughout her life, she found joy in her passions, including shopping, sewing, yard work, and square dancing during her younger years.

Hilda was a familiar face at the Senior Centers in Frederica and Milford, DE, where she cherished spending time with her friends and the community. Her contributions and vibrant personality will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Hilda was predeceased by her husband, Roland Maloney, her daughter, Linda Maloney, brothers, Alvin Pinder Jr., Philbert Pinder, her nephew, Edward Maloney, and niece, Sheila Pinder. 

Hilda is survived by her sister-in-law, Pauline E. Maloney, as well as her nieces and nephews: Michael Maloney, Cheryl Maloney-Martine, Leta Banks, Walter Pinder, Gilbert Pinder, Thomas Pinder, Dennis Maloney, Mark Maloney, and Barry Maloney.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home at 119 NW Front Street, Milford, DE 19963.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Hilda Maloney to the Frederica Senior Center to continue their incredible work in the community.
