Gloria Helena Gordon, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2025, at Bayhealth Sussex Hospital in Delaware. Born on June 12, 1944, in Salisbury, Maryland, Gloria spent her life embracing the joys and challenges that came her way, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Throughout her career, Gloria dedicated many years as a skilled sewist before transitioning into sales, where she worked for a variety of local companies. Her work ethic and commitment to her roles reflected her vibrant personality, characterized by warmth and kindness.
Gloria’s passions extended beyond her professional life; she adored her family and poured her heart into caring for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She held a special place in her heart for her Chihuahua named Bear, whom she lovingly spoiled with homemade breakfasts of eggs and sausages. Her home was a sanctuary of love, laughter, and comfort.
An avid gardener, Gloria found peace and joy in planting flowers and maintaining her landscape, showing her artistic side and connection to nature. With a passion for interior design, her home was a reflection of her artistic flair. These hobbies enriched her life and provided her with a creative outlet, which she shared with her family.
She is survived by her beloved daughters, Michelle Gordon-Hopper and her husband Whitey Hopper, and Teresa Sharff and her husband Steven. Gloria is also mourned by her sister, Janice Moore, and brothers Jerry Collins and David Collins, and her brother-in-law Harry Gordon and his wife Pat, and her brother-in-law Robert Tabaka, and sister-in-law Shirley Collins. She took great pride in her grandchildren: Steven Sharff Jr, Eric Sharff, Brittany Karpin, Jaime Downes, and Tim Gordon, along with many great-grandchildren who were a source of immense joy in her life.
Gloria was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Joseph C. Gordon Jr., her parents John and Dollie Collins, and her brothers Wendel, Dale, and Robert Collins.
In honor of her remarkable life, visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service beginning at 12:00 PM both at Short Funeral Services - Georgetown, located at 609 E Market St, Georgetown, DE 19947. Internment to follow at Union Cemetery in Georgetown.
Gloria Helena Gordon will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love, care, and dedication to family will forever remain in the hearts of those she cherished.
