Edward James Waishes, of Milford, Delaware, at the age of 54 passed away unexpectedly at his home in Milford on September 27, 2026. He was born on July 21, 1972, in Milford, Delaware.
Eddie built a life defined by hard work, skill, and devotion to the people he loved. He served his country in the United States Navy based out of San Diego, CA, on the USS Juneau (LPD-10) supporting Operation Restore Hope off the coast of Somalia in 1993. Throughout his life he was known for his strong work ethic and mechanical talent. A gifted gunsmith who built weapons, he also worked as a mechanic for J&A Auto Repair and was widely known as one of the best mechanics around. In business, he was the owner of SplatZone, a paintball and sporting goods store, as well as the owner of Milford Auto Repair.
Outside of work, Eddie enjoyed the things that brought him peace and connection. He enjoyed building weapons, hunting and fishing, and he always had a Labrador by his side. He treasured time spent with friends, whether playing poker, shooting pool, or simply driving around town together. He was someone who would help anyone who needed it, a family man who placed great importance on the holidays and the traditions that brought loved ones together.
More than anything, Eddie loved his family. He is survived by his mother, Bonnie Waishes; his children, Edward Waishes and his fiancée Jocey, Amanda Waishes and her husband Cody, Justin Harvey, and Jonathan Ellingsworth. He also leaves behind the mother of his children, Beth Waishes-Tull. His grandchildren, Eddie, Stetson, Kinsley, and Colton, were placed above everything, they all brought him great pride and joy, he especially loved spending time hanging out with each of them. He is also survived by his Aunt, Verna Baker, Uncle, Ronnie Baker, and life long friend, Karl Sturgill. They all carry forward cherished memories of his presence and handyman skills, his generosity, and the deep care he showed to those around him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Harry Waishes, his uncle, Robert Waishes, and his aunt, Coralie Waishes. Eddie will be remembered for his loyalty, his willingness to lend a hand, his love for family, and the many friendships he built over the years. His memory will remain close to all who knew and loved him.
