Edith Louise Greenly, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2026, in Felton, Delaware. Born on May 31, 1939, in Goldsboro, Maryland, Edith dedicated 43 years of her life to Playtex, where she operated machinery and made significant contributions to the workforce.
Family was the cornerstone of Edith's life. Her devotion to her loved ones was unwavering; her husband, Eugene F. Greenly, who preceded her in death, was her entire world for 42 fulfilling years. Together, they shared not just a marriage but a partnership filled love, and joy. They raced horses and took care of them, embodying the spirit of teamwork and commitment that defined their family dynamic.
Edith was also a nurturing mother to her two daughters, Tina L. Sanchez and her husband Frank, and Michelle M. Winthers and her husband Ken. She held deep love for her children, always making them feel supported and cherished. Her legacy continues through her five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, each of whom carries a part of her warmth and compassion.
Growing up on a farm, Edith learned the significance of hard work early on, a value she passed down to her family. She was proud of her accomplishments, particularly enjoying mowing her grass and watching the birds in her yard. Her hobbies included sewing, crochet, and needlework, which brought her joy over the years. In quieter moments, she delighted in listening to old-time country music, reading, and working on puzzles, activities that reflected her nurturing and creative spirit.
Edith is survived by her beloved children, her siblings — James Klecan, Louis Klecan, and Shirley McNamire — as well as her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Eugene, and her parents, William and Emma Klecan. Edith also joins her siblings in eternal rest: Buddy Klecan, George Klecan, Elsie Greenly, Betty Smith, Dorothy Sard, Ruth Sane, Adelaide Klecan, Alfred Klecan, and Joan Engelsiepen.
As we remember Edith Louise Greenly, let us celebrate her unwavering dedication to family, her profound love and compassion, and the indelible mark she left on those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her memory will forever shine brightly within the hearts of her family and friends.
