David Alan Wiley

David Alan Wiley was born on May 24, 1955, in Milford, Delaware, to William and Mary Wiley. He passed away peacefully on November 29, 2025, after a long courageous battle with cancer. David worked in the family businesses Wiley Fuel Company and Reliable Propane Gas Service for many years and later enjoyed a career at DELDOT. David had a deep love of driving trucks and serving customers. He was elected Vice President of the DELDOT union and enjoyed serving others in this position.

David had many interests and was an avid flea marketer as both a buyer and seller. He loved antiques, with a special love for comic books, earning him the affectionate title of the "King of Comic Books". He loved gardening with his wife, and his yard is evidence of his knowledge and work.

David grew up in the Pilgrim Wesleyan Church along with his three brothers, here he showcased his talent for playing the trumpet for the congregation. He was also a member of the Elks and Moose Lodges in Milford, where he shared many good times and made lasting friendships.

David leaves behind a loving family, including his devoted wife, Joyce Wiley, who cared for him throughout his illness. They were married 32 wonderful years, and she was his constant companion. He is also survived by his mother, Mary Wiley, along with his daughter, Tonia Mosley (Alex Wise), his son, David E. Wiley (Nicole), and stepdaughter, Trudi Jones (Donald). David had 12 grandchildren, Alivia Mosley, Myriah Chavis (Charlie), Chasity Mosley, Raelyn Ireland (Robert), David Wiley Jr., Madison Davis, Peyton Davis, Sloane Davis, Brooklyn Davis, Erica Dawn Poe (Brian), Christopher Jones, and Christy Lynn Jones; along with 9 great grandchildren. David also leaves behind two brothers, Joe Wiley (Renate) and Ken Wiley (Kathy) along with a host of nieces and nephews who will miss him greatly.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Wiley, his brother, Tom Wiley, and his niece, Jennifer Wiley.

A visitation for friends and family will be held on Monday, December 15, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at Berry-Short Funeral Home in Milford, Delaware followed by a funeral service starting at 11:00 AM. Interment to follow at Milford Community Cemetery.

The family wishes to extend their thanks and appreciation for the care and kindness that was given to David by his medical staff and caregivers.

David Alan Wiley will be missed by all who loved him.
