Daniel B. Jones, 84, passed away peacefully on March 23rd, 2026, at his home in Milton, DE.
Originally from Riverside, NJ, Daniel built a life rooted in hard work, family, and simple joys. He retired from Delmarva Power in 1998, where he was known for his strong work ethic and reliability. In retirement, he enjoyed the outdoors—especially hunting, yard work, and time on the water. Whether anchored with family and friends, sharing cheese and crackers, good conversation, or a day of tubing and waterskiing, those moments were where he felt most at home.
Dan was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend. He shared 58 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Pat, building a life centered on family and time spent together. Known for his playful spirit and quick wit, Dan brought laughter and warmth to those around him. The memories made with him, on the water, at happy hour, and during family gatherings, will always be cherished.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia A. Jones.
Dan is survived by his daughter, Jacquelyn Jones Keating (spouse Tom), and his son, Daniel B. Jones, Jr. (spouse Tricia); 5 grandchildren, Olivia, Emma, Owen, Daniel III, and Natalie; his beloved sister, Lois (spouse Bo); his beloved brothers- and sisters-in-law; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Dan's life will be held on Sunday, March 29th, 2026, with visitation from 12:30–2:00pm, and the service to follow at 2:00pm at Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St, Georgetown, DE 19947.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Delaware Hospice or American Legion Post 28 in Millsboro.
Online condolences may be sent to the family at https://www.shortfuneralservicesandcremation.com/. Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Services, Georgetown.
