Claire Bernadette Salerno passed away peacefully on July 25, 2026, at the age of 81. Born on February 18, 1945, in Staten Island, New York, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Crosson and Claire (Driscoll) Crosson.

Claire was a longtime believer of Christ and of the Catholic faith and attended Saint Bernadette's Church in Harrington, Delaware. She was a graduate of St. Peter's High School in Staten Island and retired after 28 diligent years as a secretary with Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic School.

Claire was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished her family above all else. She loved spending time at the home she cherished with her husband. She also enjoyed spending time with friends and loved ones. She especially treasured summers spent with her family at Forked River, New Jersey.

Claire is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, George Salerno; her children, Anthony Salerno, Mark Salerno and his wife Barbara, Dawn Trivento and her husband Nicholas, and Melissa Salerno; her sister, Regina Vata; and her four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Joseph Crosson, Charles Crosson, and Thomas Crosson.

She will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends and deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
