Christopher George Harrington, born on May 27, 1984, at Dover Air Force Base, departed this life on August 16, 2025. He was a cherished individual whose warm spirit touched lives of everyone who knew him.

As an accomplished professional, Christopher dedicated many years of his life working for Sussex County as a correctional officer and later as a tax assessor, where he served with integrity and commitment.

Christopher was a devoted family man. He held immense love for his son, Colton Harrington, and his fiancé, Shannon Devine who he called the love of his life. Together, they created a loving home filled with joy and laughter. Christopher found fulfillment in the simple moments they shared, whether it was cheering on the Dallas Cowboys (while she cheered for the Eagles) during football season or enjoying the tranquility of the beach while camping.

In his leisure time, Christopher enjoyed watching classic movies and playing fantasy football with enthusiasm. The thrill of the game was a perfect for his competitive spirit and his sense of community. He found peace and happiness in nature, particularly in watching birds and crafting birdhouses, a hobby that reflected his nurturing soul.

Christopher was also a loving pet owner; he adored his dogs—Chipper, Chance, and Buddy—who are always near and dear to his heart. This care for animals mirrored the love and compassion he showed to those around him.

He is survived by his mother, Deborah Nelson, and his stepfather, Rick Nelson, along with his loving sister, Courtney Long and her husband, Jeff, his grandfather George Willis, his aunts Arlene and Tedd Tencza, Dianne and Mike Eggert, Susan Tate, and Nancy Walsh. He is further survived by his future in-laws, Jerry and Mary Devine, as well as his sister-in-law Crystal Call, her fiancé Mike Clymber, and their son Mikey and Blaize, in addition to his future brother-in-law Gary Call and his son Carter. He will be deeply missed by is godfather Jim Walsh and his cousins.
