Christina Marie Paugh, 56, of Georgetown, Delaware, passed away on March 8, 2026, at Beebe Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by the love of her family. Known affectionately to many as “Chrissy,” she will be remembered for her warmth, compassion, and unwavering dedication to those she loved.

Chrissy was born on January 27, 1970, to Gale and Helen Walls. She grew up surrounded by a large and loving family, where the values of kindness, generosity, and togetherness became the foundation of her life. She graduated from Sussex Central High School in 1988 and soon after began what would become her lifelong calling as a child care provider.

On October 16, 1993, Chrissy married the love of her life, Randy Paugh. Together they built a beautiful life and family, raising their two children, Nicole and Caiden, who were truly the pride and joy of her life.

Chrissy’s nurturing spirit led her to dedicate her life to caring for others. She was a proud and devoted member of the Georgetown Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, where she served her community and its volunteer firefighters for more than 30 years. She was always ready to lend a hand—whether preparing food for firefighters and their families during emergencies, helping with Bingo nights, or participating in the well-known chicken salad fundraisers that supported the department.

While Chrissy gave birth to two children of her own, she became a mother figure to countless others through her more than 35 years as an in-home day care provider in Georgetown. She worked tirelessly to create a safe, loving, and joyful environment for every child who entered her home, supporting families and helping give children the best possible start in life. Her home was always filled with laughter, warmth, and the presence of beloved pets. She leaves behind her three dogs—Cosmo, Rocket, and Jet—and, as she lovingly referred to him, the “damn cat,” Jackson.

Chrissy was preceded in death by her father, Gale Walls, and her brother, Jeffrey Walls.

She is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Randy Paugh; her children, Nicole and Caiden Paugh; her mother, Helen Walls; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Richard and Ruth Paugh; her sister-in-law, Lisa Walls. She also leaves behind her nephew, Jordan Walls, his wife Kaylee, and their son Emmett; her niece, Sarah Wing; and many extended family members, friends, and community members whose lives she touched through her kindness and care.

A viewing will be held on March 13, 2026, beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Short Funeral Services in Georgetown, Delaware. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate Chrissy’s life.
