Christian Medford Killen, 59, of Felton, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2026, in hospice care, with his mother by his side. Known to many as “Caribou,” Chris lived life on his own terms and was deeply rooted in family, service, and the land he loved.
Christian was born in Milford into a multi-generation farming family in the Felton area. He left high school just shy of graduation to help on the family farm, later earning his GED and continuing forward with determination and independence. Much of his early life was shaped by agriculture, hard work, and community. Chris worked for the Delaware Department of Transportation and various contractors throughout the area. Christian was a lifetime member of the Felton Fire Company and served for many years as a volunteer firefighter. He was also a founding member of the Harrington Moose Riders.
Chris enjoyed stock-car racing, working on old trucks and tractors, hunting, fishing, and collecting machinery and parts. If there was anything that needed mending, he was the guy for the job. He often spoke of looking forward to being reunited one day with his grandfather Medford Killen, with whom he hoped to go hunting with again.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Edwin Killen; his grandparents, Medford and Eleanor Killen and Dorothy Warrington; and his aunt, Patricia Smith. Christian is survived by his mother, Cheryl Killen; his younger brother, Andrew “Andy” Killen; his three children, Ronald Killen, Spencer Killen, and Shawna Killen; his two grandsons, Matthew and Leo Hugues; his long-time companion, Donna Jackson, who cared for him and assisted him in his later years; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his faithful chocolate lab, Jersey.
Christian will be cremated in accordance with his wishes. All who knew and loved him are welcome to attend a Celebration of Life at the Felton Fire Hall on February 21, 2026, at 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Harrington Moose Riders.
