Carolyn Carter Bell, passed away on March 5, 2025, in Lewes, Delaware. Born on December 31, 1937, in Lawrence, Kansas, Carolyn's journey through life was defined by her commitment to helping those in need.
For 30 years, Carolyn worked at Tau House in Georgetown, Delaware, where she touched countless lives through her counseling work. Her dedication to assisting people was a hallmark of her character, showcasing her profound care for others. An avid gardener, she found joy in nurturing plants and creating beauty in her surroundings, mirroring the love she shared with those around her. Additionally, Carolyn had a passion for crocheting in her younger years and enjoyed antiquing, delicately uncovering treasures from the past. A beloved friend to many, she cherished moments spent playing bingo.
Carolyn moved from Kansas to New Jersey before ultimately settling in Delaware, where she found her true calling. Her legacy extends to her loving family, who will carry forward her spirit of compassion and kindness. She is survived by her son, Brad Bell, and his wife, Brigitte; her granddaughter, Laura Baloochi; and her great-grandchildren, AJ Baloochi and Tyde Bell-Ford.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Vera (Hester) Carter, as well as her sons, Alan Bell and David Bell, and her brother, Edward Carter.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on March 29, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Short Funeral Services in Georgetown, Delaware. Carolyn's kindness and dedication will be forever remembered, and her love will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
