Carol Sue Henderson, 87, of Milford, Delaware, passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at Bayhealth Sussex Campus.

Carol was born on August 5, 1939, in Zanesville, Ohio, to the late William Earl Thomas and Anna R. O’Keefe. She later moved to Silver Springs, Maryland, and ultimately made Milford her home, where she had lived for the past 24 years.

Carol received a Bachelor's from the University of Maryland at Baltimore and enjoyed a fulfilling career in healthcare as a nursing administrator with MedStar. She was also a member of the U.S. Disaster Team and had spent eight years as a nun with Holy Cross. Her faith remained an important part of her life, and she attended St. John’s Catholic Church in Milford.

Carol was devoted to her family and was especially fond of her beloved dogs, including her Pomeranian, Lenny. She will be remembered for the life she shared with those she loved and the many people and animals who held a special place in her heart.

Carol is survived by her husband of 47 years, Eugene William Henderson; her stepson, Jevon Henderson; her sisters, Shirley A. Spencer and Margaret Grabill; her brother, William J. Thomas; her grandchildren, Bianca Henderson and Sascha Henderson; her great-grandson, Andre Jr.; 11 nieces and nephews; and her beloved Pomeranian, Lenny Kravitz.

In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her sister, Joan E. DeLong.
