Milford

After a long battle with cancer, Brian Paul Bowman, 59, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2025, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, surrounded by loved ones. He left behind a legacy of dedication, humor, and kindness that will be cherished by all who knew him.

Born September 11, 1965, Brian was a devoted educator, who also spent many years working in the field of developmental disabilities. His impact on the lives of his students and clients was profound, as he inspired many to pursue their dreams.

Outside of his professional life, Brian had a deep love for the beach, where he found joy in searching for sea glass along the shore. This simple pleasure reflected his appreciation for the beauty in the world around him. In addition to being an avid traveler, he was also a dedicated member of the Bay2Bay Ringers, where he shared his musical talents as a handbell player, bringing joy to his community through music.

Brian is survived by his sister, Diana Vincent, as well as his nieces, Staci Anderson (Eric) and Tina Torres (Abi). He also leaves behind five great nieces, Carriana, Alejandra, Gabriella, Maelyn, and Kinleigh. His family, along with several close friends who were like family, will carry his memory on in their hearts.

He was preceded in death by his beloved husband and partner of 33 years, Jimmy Jenkins, and his parents, William and Carol Bowman. Brian’s spirit will live on through the cherished memories he shared with family and friends. His passing leaves a void that will be deeply felt, but his legacy of love, education, and community will continue to inspire those who knew him.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date, followed by interment in Marianna, Florida with his husband, Jimmy.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in his name to the Brandywine ASPCA.
