Obituary: Arthur A. Leach Jr. Arthur A. Leach Jr., born August 10, 1941, passed away peacefully at home on August 16, 2026, with his beloved wife, Judy, by his side. He leaves behind a life filled with family, service to his country, a distinguished career, and a lifelong curiosity about the world and the people around him.

Arthur was the devoted husband of his high school sweetheart, Judy Leach. The two met when they were young and married early in life, and shared 68 years together. Arthur was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who took tremendous pride in his family.

He leaves behind his beloved sons, Arthur Leach III, Brian Leach Sr. and his wife Michele, and Christopher Leach. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Leach Sr., and his mother, Edna Leach. He is survived by his grandchildren, Danelle Storch and her husband John, Arthur Leach IV and his wife Mary, Brian Leach Jr. and his wife Jackie, Rachele Zimmerman and her husband Mathew; and his six great-grandchildren, Cassidy, Brian III, Aurora, Maria, Paulie, and Rosie.

Some of Arthur’s favorite times were spent with his family. He enjoyed taking the boat out on the Delaware Bay and fishing with his sons and grandsons. He especially loved spending summers with the family at Slaughter Beach, as well as celebrating holidays and birthdays together. These gatherings became cherished traditions that brought the family together year after year.

Arthur had an exceptional love of history and a genuine curiosity about the past. He enjoyed researching his family tree and learning about his family’s origins and where they came from. He was incredibly knowledgeable and seemed to have an endless supply of what he jokingly called “useless facts.” To his family, however, they were anything but useless. Arthur loved sharing what he knew and especially enjoyed telling his grandchildren stories about his own life, his experiences, and the memories he had made throughout the years.

Arthur was also known for his quick wit and distinctive sense of humor. He had a playful and sometimes irreverent sense of humor and could always find a way to make those around him laugh. His stories, jokes, and unmistakable personality will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.

After serving in the United States Navy for nearly ten years 1961-1968, Arthur attained the rank of Petty Officer First Class, serving as an Instrumentman aboard the USS Arcadia (AD-23). During his years in the Navy, he traveled extensively and remained proud of his service to his country throughout his life.

rthur went on to build a distinguished career at Fidelity Mutual, where he dedicated more than thirty years and ultimately rose to the position of Vice President of Systems Management. His intelligence, dedication, and leadership were hallmarks of his professional life.

Outside of his career, Arthur enjoyed fishing, bowling, and quoits and was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He also enjoyed repairing watches, a hobby that suited his patience and fascination with how things worked. Whether he was working on a watch, researching his family tree, studying history, or sharing one of his many “useless facts,” Arthur was always interested in learning something new.

Arthur will be remembered for his intelligence, curiosity, quick wit, humor, and deep devotion to his family. His stories, knowledge, and the time he spent with the people he loved will continue to be remembered and passed down through the generations.
