Arithea (Walls) Millman

Arithea Millman passed away peacefully in her home on July 14, 2026, to be with the Lord and her family. Born on April 8, 1929, to Jesse and Winnie Walls, she was the youngest of four daughters, and lifelong resident of Milton.

Arithea was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henry; her sons, Lee and Gary; her twin sisters, Phyllis and Doris; her sister, Helen; and her niece, Sheila.

She is survived by her longtime companion, Pete; her grandson, Andrew (Sarah) of Rehoboth Beach; her granddaughter, Tara of Fort Myers, Florida; her nieces, Dana and Bonnie; and her great-nephew, Robbie.

Arithea retired as a paraprofessional from HOB Elementary School after 37 years of dedicated service, where she was deeply loved by both her coworkers and the students.

She was incredibly fortunate to have wonderful caretakers—Pete, Leslie, Sheila, and Amanda—whose support made it possible for her to remain in the home she loved.

For many years, Arithea directed the choir at Goshen Church, as singing was one of her many gifts. She was quick-witted and possessed a wonderful sense of humor that kept everyone smiling and laughing. She also enjoyed visiting the local VFW and trying her luck with the games there.

Arithea chaperoned bus trips through General Foods with other mothers to New York City that created memories for a lifetime!

She will always be remembered and missed for her humor, empathy, and her kind soul.

A celebration of Arithea’s life will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, July 23, 2026, in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal Street, Milton, Del, where a time of visitation will begin at 11:00am. Burial will immediately follow at Henlopen Memorial Park in Milton.
