Ann Y. Gibbs

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ann Y. Gibbs. She passed away peacefully at home on August 7, 2026, with her loving family by her side.

Ann was born and raised in Onley, VA, daughter of Robert and Nell (Brown) Young. She later made the Lower Delmarva her home since 1958.

Ann was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, flowers, the beach and especially spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Ann is preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert C Gibbs in 2008, her brother, Robert S. Young, and sister, Jean Costin.

She is survived by her two children, David W. Gibbs, and Lisa Gibbs Rea. Also survived by two grandchildren, five great grandchildren, her niece, Yvonne Timmons, and sister, Pauline Horner.

Gone from our sights, but forever in our hearts. She will be loved and missed. Until we meet again…

A private visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, from 11:00am - 12pm in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown, DE 19947. A graveside funeral service will immediately follow at 1pm at Bridgeville Cemetery, 2 N. Laws St., Bridgeville, DE 19933.
