She was full of life, and spunk; loving deeply and passionately.

Amanda Omans ended her journey in this life on her 67th birthday, August 10, 2026, in Dover, Delaware. She proudly proclaimed to all those with whom she interacted on her last day, "Woo hoo! It's official. I made it to 67!!" Born in Philadelphia, PA on August 10, 1959, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Walter B. Omans and Hazel Ruth Coxe. She was also referred to as "Manda" by her siblings or "Nana" by her grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In her early life, she grew up as "Mandy". She was named after her grandmother, Gladys Amanda Levan, who was named after her grandmother, Amanda E. Gable.

Amanda and her beloved pony, Oakleaf Mira, captured the Grand Championship in the Pleasure Pony division during their highly successful 1973 Delmarva circuit run, solidifying their place in local equestrian history. Amanda then graduated from Caesar Rodney Senior HS in 1977. Later she earned her license in Practical Nursing at Delaware Technical & Community College in 1995, and she became a Reiki practitioner in 2019. She had various jobs in her lifetime, ranging from veterinarian technician, to beautician, to school bus driver. She deeply enjoyed the latter because of the interactions she had with the students and parents of her bus routes. She only ended her bus driving career for medical reasons.

She called herself "a lady with an uncomplicated life," but wherever she went, Amanda lit up a room. She was full of life, and spunk; loving deeply and passionately. She spent her lifetime especially drawn to dogs, horses, and all of nature. She viewed the natural world with a scientist's eye but also a deep reverence. Family was dear to her, especially her daughter and grandchildren. Most of all she loved God, never forgetting who He was nor the power of prayer.

There is a saying. "One of your siblings will see all the funerals. One will see none. One will not have any of you at theirs. Because that is how life works. Someone goes first. Someone goes last." Amanda was the first. She will be remembered fondly by her daughter and son-in-law, Kimberlie Anne Ebke and Christopher Grant Ebke; her grandchildren, Rilee, Zoey, Zackary, and Alex; her siblings Abigail Seeley, Adrienne Omans, Glenn Omans, and Ben Omans; and seven nieces and nephews. She will always be in our hearts.

She viewed the natural world with a scientist's eye but also a deep reverence.

A celebration of life will be held Sunday September 6 2026 at 1 pm at the Millsboro Fire Hall, 109 E. State St. Millsboro, DE 19966. Donations to help with cremation and celebration of life costs can be made at https://gofund.me/ab4ad2768
