Mary Sue Sharp

MILFORD – Mary Sue Sharp, 65, passed away at her home on Monday, August 16, 2021, after fighting a courageous battle with colon cancer. She was born in Milford on July 29, 1956, to the late Linwood and Mildred (Bradley) O’Day. Mary Sue worked as a clerk for the Assessment and Tax Departments of Sussex County for 41 years. She was a member of Calvary Church, enjoyed QVC, scrapbooking, decorating for holidays and loved her pets. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gary J. Sharp; and two siblings, William L. O’Day, and Jean M. Hankins. Mary Sue is survived by three children, Curtis J. (Joyce) Sharp, Casey J. (Chandra) Sharp, Carey J. Sharp; her ‘other daughter’, Felicia (Jared) Davis; brother, Louis O’Day; 14 grandchildren, Eddie, Brooke, Amanda, Arianna, Jonathan (Milynda), Robbie, C.J. (Jayle), Justin (Ally), Blaire (Daniel), Taylor, Tyler, Ezra, Haley, and Olivia; a great-granddaughter, Charlotte; and best friend, Teresa Leyanna; as well as extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front St., Milford at 2 pm on Friday, August 20, 2021. A time of visitation will begin at 12 noon. Interment will follow at Milford Community Cemetery.
